1. Who we are

DUX Ship Recycling & Brokerage (“DUX”, “we”, “our”) is a maritime brokerage and ship recycling intermediary established in Istanbul, Türkiye. Our registered office is Küçüksu Mah. Kaldırım Cad. No.21, Üsküdar / İstanbul.

2. What data we collect

We collect information in two ways:

• Information you provide. When you contact us by email, WhatsApp or the website forms, we receive your name, company, email address, phone number and the contents of your message (for example, vessel particulars or equipment specifications).
• Information collected automatically. When you browse the site, our analytics tool (Google Analytics 4) records pseudonymised technical data: IP address (truncated), device and browser type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location at country level and timestamps. This data is processed only after you grant analytics consent.

3. How we use your data

• To respond to your brokerage, equipment-sale or consultancy enquiry and to prepare an indicative offer.
• To send transactional follow-up emails relating to your enquiry (no marketing newsletter is sent without explicit opt-in).
• To understand aggregate traffic patterns and improve the site's content and structure (analytics).
• To comply with applicable legal, accounting and anti-fraud obligations.

4. Legal basis

• Performance of a contract / pre-contract steps (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) — when you request a quote.
• Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); KVKK Art. 5(1)) — for non-essential cookies and analytics.
• Legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) — for site security, fraud prevention and improving our services.

5. Cookies & analytics

We use a minimal number of cookies and similar technologies. Categories:

• Strictly necessary — required for the site to function (e.g. remembering your cookie choice). No consent required.
• Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-23D768LYC8), provided by Google Ireland Ltd. Uses cookies prefixed with _ga to count visitors and measure how the site is used. IP addresses are truncated before storage. Data is retained for 14 months. Loaded only with your explicit consent via the cookie banner.

We use Google Consent Mode v2: until you accept, all non-essential signals are sent as denied, which prevents personal-data cookies from being written. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

• Service providers acting on our instructions (e.g. Google for analytics, our email hosting provider).
• Counterparties directly involved in fulfilling your enquiry (e.g. a recycling yard you ask us to quote), only the strictly relevant information.
• Authorities where required by law (tax, customs, maritime regulators).

Some recipients (e.g. Google) may process data outside the EEA / Türkiye. In those cases transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

7. How long we keep it

Enquiry correspondence is retained for up to 10 years to comply with Turkish commercial-law record-keeping requirements. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. You may request earlier deletion (see section 8).

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR and KVKK you have the right to: access your data; request rectification or erasure; restrict or object to processing; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Türkiye: Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu — KVKK).

9. Security

We use TLS encryption in transit, restricted access to enquiry data and reputable hosting and analytics providers. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure; we do our best but cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

Our services are addressed to professional counterparties in the maritime industry and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “Last updated” date.

• All trademarks and logos belong to their respective owners; manufacturer names are used solely to describe equipment provenance. DUX is not affiliated with any equipment manufacturer unless explicitly stated.
• The website and its content are protected by copyright. You may view and download pages for personal, non-commercial reference. Any redistribution, republication or commercial use requires our prior written consent.
• These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes shall be referred to the courts of Istanbul.
